Alan’s my name, hyperfixating on too many projects at once and only completing one or two while leaving dozens half baked ideas in the dust is my game!

I had a blog on this domain some number of years ago which I think I want to resurrect just to post the odd build log of whatever I have on my desk this week, or maybe just journal some thoughts or review old films, or whatever.

I dabble in various fields such as woodwork, 3d modelling / printing, home automation, electronics, avoiding end stage capitalism & enshittification, among others.

I won’t use AI for any content posted here although I may do the odd project involving ML or LLMs if I feel like it.

Reading List

Highly recommend “There is no Anti-memetics Division” by qntm. The audiobook is excellent – there are also some film adaptations on youtube which aren’t bad.

Small note, this was originally an SCP entry but the published audiobook replaces SCP with UO or Unknown Organisation, I assume for licensing reasons. But the story works either way.
